A rush of pleasure comes over me as my dopamine levels sky-rocket, leaving me light-headed for hours. I do sometimes experience short term memory loss and therefore submit to repetition. Also, the occasional lapse in judgement occurs, thus making me regret it later. Anxiety and paranoia are also common when I think that someone might have it before me. And other recreational activities might lose their appeal at times. Yet, most often, the immense pleasure that it gives me compensates for everything else.
Hi. My name is Ioana and I am addicted to things.
Blame it on my Taurean nature, yet the act of possessing something of great beauty is one that I cannot resist. You know me better that to label me as an irrational shopper who buys everything and anything without much consideration. Having this is mind, you should know that I cannot resist colourful shoes, or any shoes, old photo cameras, a structured jacket, a new magazine, flora and fauna inspired jewellery, leather and wood, aromatic candles, macaroons, books, stylish stationary, surrealism, sequins, and rings that I will never wear.
On all of these, and more, do read the beautiful text from Tabu magazine written by wonderful Ina Taranu-Hofnar.
And many thanks to the Tabu team for the feature and the lovely photos.
And for those of you who can’t get the mag, just stay tuned to Fashezine, I’m working on my addiction one post at a time 🙂
