One of the earliest advice I remember being given on style was never to wear the same thing twice in a row. Yet that proved to be a difficult task to accomplish in a post-communist country And so, as with any rule, I discovered I could bend it a little. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I wouldn’t have loved to have a completely outfit everyday. But even then I used to get a crush on a piece of clothing and want to wear it endlessly.  Thus, I could wear the same pants, maybe even the same skirt, but never the same top. I never knew exactly way, but my grandma was so adamant about this that, even now, my mind cannot grasp me wearing the same shirt, blouse or even tshirt twice in a row.
It seems that my obsessive nature goes further than impressionable years of being told the same thing, because earlier this week I had a breakthrough realisation. Whenever I’d have to get dressed to go out, I would automatically pull out the same shirt/dress. Maybe because I was always in a hurry these past days, or because it’s so comfortable. Still, I like to think it’s because it’s so easy to style.
You’ve seen it a couple of times. I’ve worn it numerous times. It’s my blue American Apparel shirt/dress and 4 ways to wear it.
I’ve always liked the brown and blue combination of colors, so what could be better that throwing on a beige trench over the shirt, together with dark blue thick tights, and nude suede shoes. Completed with a multicolored scarf that picks up some of the colors of the outfit, and adds a pop of red.

The classic blue shirt/dress can be easily translated into a dinner outfit with the help of a structured, well-cut jacket and a pair of satin evening shoes. Just add a bold ring and you’re ready to go.

A short leather jacket accessorized with a rock-inspired necklace and my favourite OTK boots make this a great outfit for going out late at night. The Raybans are of course optional.
