Le Petit Déjeuner Noir
Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the cauldron boil and bake;
Adder’s fork and blindworm’s sting,
Lizard’s leg and howlet’s wing.
For charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
Double,double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and couldron bubble.
Witches’ Chant, Macbeth
A modern witch’s chant sounds a bit different, but the tools we use for chanting, spell casting, and general witchy business have changes quite a lot. Cats are still our companions, but there are no more lizards, or dragons. And snakes are used merely for decorative purposes, be it in the form of necklaces, rings, and so forth. Nowadays, we drink prosecco (courtesy of ProseccoBar) instead of cauldron broth, we use red lipsticks, black eyeliner, and perfume that smell of vanilla and tobacco. The spell book and tarot cards, well, they only come out for special occasions.
As for Halloween, that’s the one day of the year that we can use for some well deserved rest&relaxation. Only to reclaim our witchy ways the next day over breakfast, or, as we like to call it, Le Petit Déjeuner Noir.
In the role of the witches we have: Catalina, and myself.
